The animals of Africa are what got my attention. The landscape radiated a feeling of dryness and excitement. The paintings, though, are from my photos. We gazed in wonder and didn't stop long enough for me to paint. We were always looking for the next animal or following one. The animals moved too much for me to paint anyway! The landscape was beautiful and so different from the "greenness" I usually paint.
