The Midwest
The midwest is full of color with a feeling of unspoiled freshness. It is easy to leave my studio grabbing my already packed backpack to find the easy beauty. Some of the best times are autumn in central Illinois and summer in Michigan. Winter is as beautiful and can be more dramatic, but I wimp out and usually paint from photos.
